PostHeaderIcon Could Vitamins Cure Your Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction usually has something to do with a person’s circulatory system. When you consider exactly how complex the freeways, highways, and byways of blood flow are – virtually millions of veins, arteries, and more – it is no wonder that there are hundreds of supposed erectile dysfunction “cures”. In fact, there are very few proven treatment options for erectile dysfunction, but one idea is gaining ground in the press: niacin.

Also called Vitamin B3, this essential organic chemical is important for health and for arterial health in particular, but it will not necessarily help you with erectile dysfunction. As we will see, B3 is only a realistic option for a select few people struggling with impotence.

How B3 for ED Works

Erectile dysfunction sometimes is caused by a lack of stable blood flow into the penis. A good 80% of cases may actually be related to this issue. According to new research from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, ingesting large amounts of niacin can boost blood flow to the genital region. The channels of blood in many people can be clogged with fats and cholesterol, which result in unstable blood flow and high blood pressure. Niacin is said to reduce these harmful substances.

Researchers also speculate that B3 may dilate blood vessels, making more room for blood to go through.

The Catch

You simply cannot get enough niacin in your diet without using supplements to get any desired effect. Furthermore, foods high in niacin – meat, eggs, milk – all cause more health problems and erectile dysfunction than they could possibly fix. In fact, if B3 were a cure for erectile dysfunction, it is unlikely that there would be so many cases of ED in the first place! This is because, as dietitians and nutritionists suggests, meat diets are the primary original reason for ED in the United States; obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes all come from meat, dairy, and eggs and are virtually unheard of in vegetarian populations.

What’s Wrong with Supplements?

According to the study, which is very early in the process of deciding whether niacin is a viable treatment option, you need 1500 mg of B3 a day to see improvement in erections. You can get this from supplements, but they quite expensive for only a small chance of them helping. They also do not absorb very well in the body and may tax your liver and kidneys over time.

The Truth about Niacin

B3 is, of course, an essential vitamin for health and wellness. You need to get some every day in order to convert food into usable energy. However, it is unlikely to be a realistic treatment for erectile dysfunction. Getting the daily minimum, 17 mg for men and 13 mg for women, is all that is needed to prevent erectile dysfunction – but curing it is unlikely.

For best results, use a vegetable-based source of B3, or eat shiitake or crimini mushrooms.

Viagra is the best alternative

The only cure for most men is improved health through diet and exercise. Reduce or eliminate your meat and dairy consumption while working in more vegetable proteins. Soy is a great option, studies agree.

Viagra is the most successful treatment option available. Viagra works for 80% of ED cases.
